This is a superb antique Victorian large hall seat from the early 1900's in excellent condition.
The piece is made of excellent quarter sawn oak with a fantastic original finish with great color.
It is extremely well made and may be by R. J. Horner, though it is not signed.
There are many fantastic applied carvings depicting leaves and faces.
It has excellent carved paw feet and there is a flip up storage compartment under the seat.
The back is paneled and the piece is very heavy and thick.
This is an extremely striking and rare piece in a great size.
