This is a good and rare Gustav Stickley bench from the early 1900s ? Mission Arts&Crafts period in excellent condition.
The bench made of excellent selection of quarter sawn oak and super original color with thru tenon construction.
It is in great form with cut out on each side and marked with Gus Paper Label and Decal. You just do not get any better selection of oak and color.
It is model #217 and it is with no repairs, gouge or replace part sturdy and strong.
We see several of the same model in auctions and most are with worn feet and missing?one inch with 21 inch high.
You can see the very same model in reprint G Stickley catalog by David Cathers on page 35, but the stool is just 21 inch high?most likely was use hard on the floor and lost?one inch.
This bench is over one hundreds years old and in remarkable state of survival.
