This is a Superb Antique L&jG Stickley Onondaga Shop Morris Chair from the early 1900's.
This is a great Morris chair that is in very good condition with a great original finish with minor wear.
The chair is model number 798 and it is with slots on both sides under the arms.
The legs have a through tenon and pinned construction and the arms have a through tenon construction.
The chair is unmarked as most of these were. The original seat and back cushion have been recovered with a top quality black hand-rubbed leather filled with cotton and hair. (Not Cheap Foam)
The seat is on top of a cotton webbing and not cheap plywood like you see most dealers use. We use a very high-quality leather from Germany and if you compare our seats to the other dealers you will see the difference. We try and make the furniture as time period correct as we can and also we make the seats very comfortable. This settle is sturdy and strong with no repaired or replaced parts and it is ready to be used in your home or business.
Sharp edges all around compare to many antique chairs you see around, superb color
We do have several furniture items listed and will combine shipping if you need more than one item to save you money. Also, we will give a discount if you buy multiple pieces of furniture at a time. We do not deal with flea market quality Stickley furniture all parts are original to this chair includes the back of the chair. We telling you this since we sold the same model Morris chair last week and a week later the buyer told us A DEALER NEW WEST CHESTER, PA offer for around $2000 less.
Just checking the other chair we found out the chair was for sale in Rago auction in NJ and we found out the very same chair was with a replaced back( you do not to be an expert to see it).
We told the expert who running the auction about it and sure he did nothing.
Sure, the chair did not sell.
Later we found out the young dealer who is an expert in gold purchased this chair after the sale…. We see many Morris chairs with replaced back.
