Ivory Field Serapi Rug. RR253

Description

This is a rare antique Persian Serapi Oriental rug from the 1850s.

The rug is in fair condition.

It has 100% wool, hand knotted pile that is largely present with significant lower areas.

The rug has a highly desirable ivory field with excellent complimentary colors.

The sides and ends are mostly complete and there is lots of pile all over, making it easy to restore.

There is one large hole that is mostly patched. Problem areas are pictured.

The border is particularly attractive.

It is rare to find ivory field Serapi rugs.

This rug would make for a superb restoration project.
