This is an antique and are Van Erp Large Hammered Brass Center Piece from the early 1900s.
This piece was made by Van Erp who worked on an Army base on Mare Island outside of San Francisco from 1900-1908.
His pieces are marked with WRA.
The top of the piece is an old brass casing and the bottom, we believe, is made from hammered copper.
The bottom has nice hammering and great original patina.
Van Erp put a heavy material inside the base, which makes the piece very heavy and sturdy.
There are no dents of damage to this piece.
