It was made in the 1850s. Most rugs you see of this type are from the early 1900s.
It is in very good condition and is a rare size.
The foundation and pile are wool. The majority of the rug is low pile, but there is full pile on the sides. There is wear around the center of the rug and on one end. The rug is missing a few rows on one side. There is a very small section of reweave.
