Now THIS is a real statement and conversation piece if we ever saw one!
Colossal Antique Leaded Glass Floor Lamp. We believe it is Austrian in origin and dates to the early 1900s. The lamp is heavy weight, solid, and structurally sound.
The lamp is constructed of hand hammered brass all around with excellent original patina throughout.
All of the glass is original. It is leaded all around. There are stained glass panels, with chunked glass inserts. Photos do not do the 3 dimensional nature of the chunked glass pieces justice.
Glowing light radiates through the top shade and also through the glass in the base. We can’t emphasize enough… this lamp is really stunning.
There are a few hairlines in the glass, you have to look closely to see them. They are stable, do not detract from the beauty, and are expected with the age and weight of this piece.
The underside of the base has a boomed cover that clips to hold it shut. The clip is not currently working, so the little door rests on the floor underneath the base (you cannot see it). We can look into having it addressed if it is of concern for the new owner.
