Colors:
Red field with navy border and salmon, ivory.
Description:
This is an exceptionally nice Persian Tribal
rug from the early 1800's with wool pile over wool foundation. The rug has
great colors and has a great motif on the border. The field design is very
simple and elegant as you normally see on early 1800's rugs. The rug is
definitely collectible.
In the photos, the rug appears
to have an area of irregularity, but this is due to the camera's flash and not
due to imperfections on the rug.
One end is complete with a few
missing rows on the other end (the rug has been overcast to prevent further
losses). The sides are nearly complete as you can see in the pictures (we can
add a little wool if you want). The rug is in great overall condition with minor
wear on 2 areas. There is plenty of pile around the 2 worn areas, so that
restoration will be easy and hard to detect. There is also some folding wear.
The rug can be used as is or can be restored to perfect condition.
